Ton of Midterms

Hey everyone again,

Hope you're all doing well with all your midterms from your other classes. I hope that you all did well on the last midterm we just had for computer science. Man sometimes I feel like the midterms just never stop, you just get one after another after another. It's intense like you start school in September, then as October comes around you pretty much have a midterm every week then when they're completed you have finals. It is so intense here at UofT.

I'm quite glad that I've taken Computer Science, cause the course content is quite straight forward compared to some of the other science classes I've taken. The tutorials are structured quite well and since Danny decided to put them at the beginning of class this makes the quizzes much easier for most of us. I just had my last midterm today which was intense. I'm hoping that I can start studying for all the finals now and work on all the projects I have for the different classes. This way I'll be more prepared for the exams when they come up. Well thanks again for reading this.

Been Super Busy Sorry

Hey everyone,

I'm terribly sorry for my tardiness in making the first post on this BLOG. I've been super busy with school and work. I'm currently a third year student doing a double major in Immunology and Health & Diseases. I'm doing 6 courses this semester which is partially the reason for me being so late. I currently enjoy computer science (CSC104) quite a lot. I took it in high school for my grade 10, 11 and 12 learning Turing for grade 10 and Dr. Java for the latter years. I must say Dr. Racket is a great starting program. At first I had thought that Dr. Racket seemed silly and especially check-expect. However once we got into slightly more complex coding the check-expect helped a lot.

I found that the first midterm was reasonable and that the questions were fair for the content that we had covered. I had a lot of difficulty on the first short answer questions regarding the similarities and differences of past/present computing methods, however I had looked at some of the answers my friends got after the test and clarified any confusion that I had.

The wikipedia assignment seems like a great learning experience. It's a good way to learn about something new (or something old) and a great way to contribute to the community. I found that the first part of the assignment was very clear and it was easily accomplished. However I thought that the instructions for the second part of the assignment was very unclear and that it was much harder. I didn't do as well for the second assignment as I did for the first but I'm getting together with a classmate that did do well on it to clarify any errors on my part in preparation for the third section of the assignment.

The first project for the class seemed fairly straight-forward. All of the instructions given was very clear. I had some problems with some of the check-expects that we had to write however after sitting down with my partner we had worked out the details and solved it with ease.

I'm hoping to post more often (but family issues at home makes it quite difficult) to make up for the weeks that I haven't posted anything. I'd like to apologize for such a long blog and thank everyone for taking the time out of their day to read it.

Thank you
